Frequently Asked Questions

Does PCNH prescribe pharmaceuticals?

Yes. In certain instances, a prescription is the best medicine. For example, if a patient of ours is trying to get pregnant and we discover she has autoimmune thyroid, a thyroid hormone prescription may be a helpful starting point. However, If you already work with a Primary Care Provider (PCP) and you're already on medication, the ongoing management of that medication is the responsibility of that prescribing physician. We can't prescribe prescriptions outside the state of Oregon.

What is PCNH’s appointment cancellation policy?

Rescheduling & canceling appointments can only be done independently without support from our office up to 24hrs before your appointment start time. You will only need to contact us to reschedule an appointment after the 24hr mark. It's your responsibility to provide 24hr notice by phone to cancel, reschedule or change appointments. Lots of time and energy go into preparing for your appointment, and this policy protects our ability to offer this level of care.

I don't live in Oregon. Can I still schedule a Telemedicine appointment?

Yes, we can support you remotely. Since we’re currently only licensed in Oregon, we can’t establish a doctor/patient relationship, but rather a client/consultant relationship. The difference is that we can't diagnose or treat, but we can guide you with recommendations, and all of our out-of-state clients find this is invaluable to their health journey.

Who do I contact PCNH for insurance & billing questions?

What makes PCNH different from other clinics & natural medicine providers?

  • The healthcare world is often overwhelming to navigate–leaving many feeling isolated and defeated. Luckily, we’re not like most doctors, and we’re not like most clinics. At our clinic, we seek to provide the exact opposite of this common experience by providing patients with thorough information, and empowering them to take their health into their own hands.
  • We anticipate patient needs and offer a premier quality of care at every step of the process. We respond with efficiency and go above and beyond to create ease in our patient processes–such as having access to schedule/reschedule appointments at your own discretion, and offering complimentary insurance benefits checks. Additionally, we recognize you as the unique being that you are, and that is why your treatment process will be personalized to your unique needs.

What is a Naturopathic Physician/Doctor (ND)

A Naturopathic Doctor, or ND, is a licensed physician that abides by a different philosophy of practice than traditional MD’s and specializes in holistic or naturopathic medicine. The ND philosophy is that the nature of pain is to resolve, and when the pain is not going away, this is an indication that there is a deeper issue at play. They examine the patient holistically–by considering their entire being: biochemical, physical, mental, emotional, and even spiritual. They do this to identify what the “root cause” of the issue is, so that it can be treated and healed, rather than “shutting off” symptoms and potentially driving the illness deeper into the body.

How do I know PCNH accept my insurance or not?

Once you apply to be our new patient (link to application) we provide a a Courtesy Insurance Benefits Check once you submit photos of the front & back of your insurance cards through the application or email. These benefits checks take about 2-4 business days.
