Alongside his specialty work, Dr. Ben provides adjunctive naturopathic care and integrative medicine support for the general health concerns most people live with, including hypothyroidism and Hashimoto’s, hormone imbalance, SIBO and IBS, chronic allergies, fatigue, chronic pain, insomnia and skin conditions. You do not need a rare or complex diagnosis to work with him. If your labs came back normal but you do not feel normal, or a long standing issue has never been fully addressed, that is exactly the kind of care this practice is built for.
This is adjunctive care, meaning Dr. Ben works alongside your primary care provider rather than replacing them. He orders and interprets comprehensive blood work through your insurance, including full thyroid panels, hormone and metabolic panels, iron studies, vitamin D and inflammation markers, then builds an individualized plan using clinical nutrition, botanical medicine and targeted supplementation. In network with Moda, PacificSource, Regence and Blue Cross Blue Shield, Allied Health and HMA, billed directly, with your benefits verified before your first visit.

Dr. Ben Reebs, ND is a naturopathic doctor in the Portland, Oregon metro whose practice centers on mold and mycotoxin illness (biotoxin illness / CIRS), Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS), histamine intolerance, and complex chronic illness. If your life changed after time in a water-damaged building, or you have collected years of normal lab results while feeling anything but normal, this is the medicine built for you.
Patients usually arrive with some combination of chronic fatigue, brain fog, recurrent sinus and skin infections, new food and chemical sensitivities, histamine flares, and unexplained multi-system symptoms. Dr. Ben's approach starts with careful listening and precise investigation: urine mycotoxin testing, environmental exposure assessment, food intolerance evaluation, and targeted labs that look where conventional workups often do not.
Treatment is sequenced, not scattershot: open drainage pathways, calm the immune and mast cell response, bind and clear mycotoxins and other toxicants, and rebuild gut, mitochondrial, and hormonal health with clinical nutrition, botanical medicine, and homeopathy. The same mediator-focused framework guides his work with heavy metal toxicity, autoimmunity, gastrointestinal conditions, and Long COVID.
Ben grew up off-the-grid in rural Washington state, in a family of healers, with a childhood steeped in medicine, exploration, and the natural world. While studying mind-body medicine at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, he watched a close friend struggle with chronic disease and saw firsthand what traditional naturopathic medicine could do. He returned to school, earned his doctorate of naturopathic medicine (ND) from the National University of Natural Medicine (NUNM) in Portland, and healed himself of two life-long chronic diseases along the way.
That journey shapes how he practices today. For the fifth year running, Dr. Ben has been named a Top Naturopathic Doctor in Portland by his peers. He is the author of The Serpent and the Butterfly, host of a popular podcast on healing, and founder of PCNH and Modern Vital. Every patient's care still begins the same way: with their story, heard in full, in a safe place to tell it.
"The nature of pain is to resolve. My work is to identify the underlying mediators driving a person's complex chronic condition, then target them in an individualized way, so each patient can meet their goals and truly get better."

Dr. Ben is in-network with Moda, PacificSource, Regence / Blue Cross Blue Shield, Allied Health, and HMA for Oregon patients, and bills United and Aetna (including Meridian and Meritain) out-of-network. Dr. Ben does not accept Medicaid or OHP plans, in-network or out-of-network. The clinic bills insurance directly, and HSA and FSA funds are accepted. Coverage for naturopathic care varies by plan, so we verify your benefits before your first visit.
Mast Cell Activation Syndrome (MCAS) is an immune dysregulation in which mast cells release histamine and other mediators too easily, causing flushing, hives, gut symptoms, and reactivity to foods, smells, and stress. Dr. Ben regularly works with MCAS and histamine intolerance, which often overlap with mold exposure.
